Netflix is known for it's best binge watching series, but it can be difficult at times to know which series are worth binge watching. To help, I have complied a list of all the best binge watching shows that I've sat through myself. Some I've watched gradually, others in a few days...
Finally, at the beginning of 2018, Friends was added to Netflix. Despite the fact I own the box set, I am currently sat in bed blogging and watching Friends. So far I am on season 2 after two weeks, which means in eight more weeks I will get to season 10.
The Good Place
I started watching this series just before Christmas. At the time the first season was out and complete, now I am running on fumes as every Friday a new 30 minute episode comes out. It's never quite enough, but this show is oddly so satisfying. I would strongly recommend this, short episodes, doesn't require to much attention but has the most fantastic storyline!
The great thing about Black Mirror is that it doesn't really matter what episode or season you start on, none of the episodes contain the same characters or storyline. Normally each season has a hidden gem in relation to the episodes before it. But if you aren't fussed with this, the order you watch doesn't matter. I will warn you, some of the episodes are quite dark.
Not the classic movie, the series. And what a series! All seasons are, funnily enough, based in Fargo. Each season is a different set of characters, that has a small connection to the season before, so it is important to watch the series in order.
If you haven't watched it? WHY? You need to stop what you're doing and take the time to watch the two season. Thankfully there will be a third! I managed to watch both seasons in one weekend, and yes I am rather proud. There are 8 episodes in each season and I have loved BOTH seasons!
If you don't mind subtitles and want a short series to binge, this is actually really good. I watched it at University with my housemate and we absolutely loved it! It's based in Brazil where only 3% of the population has the opportunity to escape poverty and head to the 'offshore'.
13 Reasons Why
No matter what the press is saying about the series that may seem problematic. I thought this was one fo the most fantastic and emotional series I have ever seen. When season 2 comes out, I can guarantee I will be watching.
Crazy Ex Girlfriend
I love this series, it's so much fun and the best musical series I have ever seen. It has the funniest original songs written. Currently we are on season 3, so you'll be able to binge all way to there. Surprisingly it gets quite dark and emotional in season 3 which was a little worrying for the series because I'm not sure where it was going. But it still was and is a great show that shouldn't be missed.
Jane The Virgin
This was one of my most favourite series on Netflix, currently on season 4 and it's gone a little downhill for me. But it is however picking up again. Season 1-3 are absolutely amazing!
One of the best shows. I love this series. Cannot fault it, there were no seasons that I hated. They recently did a special event with 4 episodes that spans over the 4 seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter.
If you loved any of the series mentioned above let me know! Always happy to discuss film and television!
