The wedding venue hunt has begun! Since getting engaged on the 16th of June, Tyler and I have been searching around Bedfordshire for the perfect venue.
What we want in our venue is a civil ceremony and a reception, as we don't want to pay for transportation to another venue.
Here are the venues we've visited and our thoughts:
Dodford Manor ⭐⭐⭐⭐
We absolutely loved the first venue we saw.
Unfortunately, this venue books up FAST and can be quite pricey.
Abbey Hill Golf Club ⭐⭐⭐
Whilst we loved the all inclusive package and price... We were not completely satisfied with our viewing. When I first arranged a viewing, they double booked us and rang us last minute to tell us, then when we rearranged and arrived for our 11:00am viewing, the events co-coordinator was running late by 15 minutes. Later, we finally met with her, she couldn't show us the venue as there was a kids party being held in that room.... I felt like we made the trip for nothing. Overall our first experience with them were NOT great, we didn't feel special or considered at all...
However, here is what we did like about the wedding package:
Garden Court Sandy ⭐⭐⭐⭐
If you're looking for a wedding on a budget, look no further.
We were absolutely amazed by the all inclusive cost. £2500, which includes:
EverSholt Hall ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This was one of the most beautiful and unique wedding venues we came across. Eversholt Hall has a licence for civil ceremonies and has a beautiful space for the reception. We honestly cannot fault inside the venue.
Ben who gave us the tour was fantastic, he sat us down and wrote down everything we wanted for our big day and emailed us our quote. This was definitely one of our favourite venues.
If you also have a wedding party with a range of children from different ages, outside there is a great playground to keep them occupied whilst the wedding party have their photographs taken.
Eversholt hall tend to offer bespoke packages instead of an all inclusive. However, they do tend to be on the pricey side and on occasion, if you're getting married in the summer, you can expect to see cricket players out on the field.
Moore Place Hotel ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
And finally, Moore Place Hotel... Which just so happens to be our chosen wedding venue for 2020. This beautiful building is located in Milton Keynes and gave my fiancé and I Downton Abbey feeling at an extremely affordable price.
For a winter wedding (November - March) you will get:
For only £3900! We're so excited to be holding our wedding here. With beautiful photo opportunities with a waterfall, fish pond and stain glass windows, it's the perfect venue.
